Ryder sat up today!

Nothing more to say. The photos speak for themselves. Ryder has started sitting up on his own. Yikes!!! Exciting, scary, and sad, all at the same time.

A fun little side by side

Here are two photos of the boys. The one on the left is Ryder at 5 months, the one on the right is Zane at 3 months. Anyone else see the resemblance?

Ryder started sitting up.

Here we go with another milestone. We are in the very early stages of Ryder sitting up. He is doing the tripod and using his hands to keep himself up. It's so cool, and yet sad. We also put Ryder in his highchair for the first time yesterday. He did really well, although he looks so funny in it. He is just so itty-bitty compared to how big Zane was at the same time. He's my peanut.

Zane vs. the Brown Recluse

My poor Zane took another hit this week. Seems we are becoming regulars at urgent care. Seems that Zane had a run in with a Brown Recluse. For those of you unfamiliar with this little bugger, consider yourself lucky. It's a spider, a nasty, horrible, relative of the black widow. Their bites can eat away at flesh, and so on. I'll keep the details to myself, just use your imagination. Anyway, Zane is doing really well. He's on antibiotics, and benadryl and a handful of other treatments. His leg is DISGUSTING, but the rest of him is perfect. As for how he feels, just fine. He is so awesome.

Ryder and the floppy hat!

These photos were just too cute not to post. I know it's a little early for a 1st birthday hat, but Zane really enjoyed Ryder wearing it.

Zane's first trip to Urgent Care:(

It was, to say the least, an exciting day in the Reed house. What I want to say is that Zane managed to sprain his wrist today, but what I should really say is that I managed to sprain Zane's wrist. It certainly wasn't intentional, but I feel horrible none the less. I was a sport about it, passed out at the Urgent Care from all the pain. Poor kid. Although it didn't take him too long to figure out that he could play Mommy and Daddy like a fiddle just by saying "OW." He has certainly enjoyed the hand and foot service. The Dr said to keep it wrapped and take it easy (yeah right) for the next few days. On a happy note, he still wanted to use the potty today despite his injury. What an awesome kid.

Ryder is crawling!

This has been a huge week in the Reed house. Not only has Zane been potty training, but Ryder started crawling, and on my birthday none the less. It's more of a centipede move. He gets up on all fours and then catapults forward. It's so cute, and he gets really far doing it. Although he also has a tendency to fall over sideways, and that's just funny. I have to say, seeing him crawl was the best birthday present ever. It's a little scary to think that he isn't even 5 months and he's becoming mobile. So far he is proving to be another Zane and is way ahead of the curve.

It's Potty TIme!!!

I am the proudest, happiest Mommy in the whole world. Zane started potty training this week. He has gone 4 days without a diaper (excluding naps and overnight). Kib and I are just astonished at how well he has done. He hasn't had a single accident. Yippee!!!!

And we're back

So here we are, finally home from our month on the road. Although we had a wonderful time visiting all of our family and friends, we are so glad to be home. I won't go into crazy detail about our week. It was great to see our friends, old and new. We LOVED meeting Elliott's wife and spending time with them. It was nice to be involved in Eric and Kat's big day. As always, it was wonderful to see my family. I miss them (you) terribly. Most importantly everyone made a huge effort to keep Zane happy, and that means the world to Kib and I.
