Geek Lovin

This is just a fun photo of Kib and I being silly. It's one of the few photos we have of just the two of us.

Cuisin Day 2

The second day of our cruise we went to Catalina Island off the coast of California. We really enjoyed this little town. It's your typical tourist trap with lots of shops to look at, but we enjoyed it none the less. I think the main enjoyment here was just walking around and hanging out with Dad and the Gassners. Zane and CJ (the Gassner's 4 yr old) really hit it off and had a great time together.

The Best Trip EVER!

Last week we went on a cruise with Grandpa Reed and our good friends that Gassner's. This was, by far, the best trip we have ever taken. Grandpa was a super huge help, and a load of fun to be around. It was so nice just to have an extra set of hands. I have never seen anyone put a kid to sleep as easily as grandpa. Must be all those kids, and grand kids. (If there are any wierd errors in this blog it's because Ryder is insisiting upon helping me). So the first day of our trip we went to the San Diego Zoo where we met up with my BFF Andrea and her daughter Chloe. It amazes me that everytime we see each other we think it will be the last time for another year, and somehow we manage to see each other about 4 times a year. It must be divine intervention or something. The zoo was great, although I am not sure that Zane totally gets it yet. He was more interested in things to climb on, the gondola, and the bus.

Kayaking

Zane and Kib went Kayaking yesterday. This is nothing out of the ordinary as they do this a couple times a month, but yesterday was a special kayaking trip. The two of them joined about 50 other kayakers for an all day kayak trip. They were gone for about 14 hours total which was a lovely vacation for me too. Anyway, it seems that this little trick was exactly what the Dr ordered for Kib. I couldn't get him to stop talking last night about all the people that he met and how much fun it was. Most importantly Zane had a blast. Apparently he was the only kid there. Everyone seemed amazed that Kib brought a 2 year old kayaking (little did they know Zane has been Kyaking since her was about 7 months old). According to Kib everyone just ate up Zane. He is such a cutie. He peed off the side of the boat when is was time to "go" and he took his nap in the front of the boat while they meandered down the river. I am so proud of Zane I can't even express it. I am doubly thrilled that Kib made some new friends.

Too funny not to share

Unfortunately there is no photos to go along with my story. Yesterday I went next door to Cheryl's, as I do most days, and she was nice enough to hold Ryder for me, as she does most days. Yesterday, however, Ryder decided to baptize Cheryl. It was hilarious. We were standing in the kitchen talking and somehow Ryder managed to pee out the side of his diaper, all down Cheryl's leg, and on the floor. The kicker is that his diaper was not full, and his clothes stayed completely dry. I don't think this amazing act of kindness could ever be replicated so perfectly. Fortunately for me Cheryl still adores my boys.

Zane's new bath

I went into the bathroom today where, I thought, Zane was washing his hands. Boy was I wrong. This is what I found:I had no idea that he could even come close to getting into the sink. The thought never occurred to me. Just goes to show how much I know. Seriously, every day he does, or says something that just blows my mind. The terrible two's really leave a lot to be desired, however, it's moments like this that just make you step back and go "wow." Times like these are what life is all about.

How big brothers should be...

I went to the store yesterday to do my weekly shopping, and left Kib home with both the boys. In my absence Zane took it upon himself to "take care of" Ryder. He read him books while Ryder "aired out." And fed Ryder his dinner. What an awesome big brother.

Ryder's first food

I decided to try and feed Ryder some rice cereal and apple sauce today. Here are the results:

I think the photos speak for themselves. He wasn't a fan of the food. But who can blame him when he gets the good stuff from Mommy.

Zane had a much better time with his food today. We ate peanut butter and fluff for lunch, although I think that Zane ate more fluff than peanut butter.
