Schnepf Farms 2008

Hi Everyone,

I know I haven't been blogging a whole lot. Things here are just crazy. Anyway, we took some time out this weekend to regain some sanity and spend time as a family. we went to Schnepf Farms which is this huge, awesome, pumpkin patch in Mesa. Auntie Kelly went with us and we all had a blast. I can't believe that we spent 5 hours there. We did everything from ride the train to the plane to the pumpkins. It was great. We even got to see frisbee catching dogs. This is a great family tradition that we hope to continue for many years.

Zane is a big Boy

I guess part of being a two year old is doing things on your own. Zane is into the "i do it" stage. Everything from making breakfast in the morning (he stirs the eggs and puts the butter and cinnamon on his toast) to cleaning the kitchen (yup, he got a rag and cleaned the cupboard doors yesterday) to getting dressed for school. Today he decided that he wanted to get dressed for school and take his backpack. I don't know how he associated a backpack (or "pack pack" in Zane terms) but he did and this is what he came up with...

Ryder and Elmo

Zane got the Tickle me Elmo for his birthday from Gramma Tweet Tweet (my Mom) and he hasn't really taken to it like I thought he would. However, Ryder discovered the thrills of Elmo this week and now every time he sees him he takes off crawling over to him. He has no idea how to get him to work, but when Elmo turns on, Ryder freaks out (in a good way).

Fun times in the bath

Monday Zane asked if he could take his bath with Ryder so we figured we would try it. Tuesday he asked again, and Wednesday, and today. I think they like it. They splash and play and do their own thing.
When we decided to embark on the adventure of having another child, we did so in hopes that it (he) would be a built in play mate for Zane. So far, they appear to be on the path to being best friends. Zane is always asking where Ryder is, taking him toys, rubbing his back when he cry's and saying "it's OK." Zane really is the best big brother I could have hoped for. Don't be completely fooled, Zane still hits and pushes and annoys Ryder too, but if he didn't, I'd be worried.

Ryder is Crawling!!!!

Ryder decided that he was going to start crawling today. We set him in front of the TV in the LR and all of a sudden he was playing with the drawer on my desk in the kitchen. Holy Moly!! Then, he decided to head for the back door and try to make an escape. It's crazy, he's not lightening fast yet, but he sure is moving. 6 months 2 weeks and 4 days and he's off. It's great!! and so very sad at the same time.

Tummy Sit, Sit Tummy

Ryder is Rocking and rolling these days. He just mastered the ability to go from his tummy, or hands and knees, to sitting straight up and playing with a toy. For those of you with kiddos you know how awesome that this is. I love turning around and seeing him sitting up playing with a toy and just 10 seconds before he was scooting around the room. My baby is growing up:(
